Toronto Thumbs Heads for The Star

By Toronto Thumbs Staff - April 1st, 2008

We’re pleased to announce that effective shortly, we will be the sole gaming news provider for The Toronto Star.

Perhaps what is most exciting about this new business venture is not only the oodles of cash that will be thrown in our general direction, but also the fact that we’re teaming up with a publication awesome enough to realize that despite Devil May Cry 4’s ESRB rating of “Mature,” the game is, indeed, for Everyone. Because that game ROCKS!

Although Toronto Thumbs was started as a non-profit and ad-free endeavour, we’ve realized that we needs to “get real paid” for our devotion to the “bidness up in here,” and have consequently started to implement ad-serving software on our site. Don’t call us sell-outs. We won’t be able to hear you with all the money in our ears.

UPDATE: April Fool’s! We are not affiliated with The Star and there have been no shake-ups, crackdowns, or blood baths over at their offices (to the best of our knowledge). We also have no intention of selling out nor placing advertisements on the site.

Count your lucky stars to be among such a luminary of games journalism that he has gifted the world with the line…
“The game is set in a fantasy parallel world that looks a bit like our own but also a bit like a vampire movie.”
And then goes on to question…
“Why is he in church at all? He is clearly a tough guy who takes no orders from anyone. What, did his mother make him go?”

You will have to develop some slick skills pretty fast to keep up with that writer.

We’ve been training for the past month at Camp Metaphor. Or was that Camp Methane?

    Either way, we’re ready.

I wonder if it will be noticeable in my writing, that I now drive into the offices in a brand new expensive($$$) Hummer inside a Prius shell? I promise that aside from insane amounts of blow, I won’t let our success change me.

Wait! What? Does this mean I don’t have to actually play the games I review now?
