If you're already carrying six Pokemon, then you have to store one to "Someone's PC" before you can retrieve one that you've caught and that was automatically sent to "Someone's PC."

To do this, you need to visit one of the Poke Centers in the game (each town has one) and log in to the computer. You can then access the Pokemon storage system on Someone's PC. It should be pretty straightforward from there. I believe this is all covered in the game's instruction manual as well.

I am a mom of a seven year old who just got his first pokemon ds game -- pokemon platinum. We can't figure out this whole "stored to someone's PC thing." Can we change which pokemon are active and which are stored? If so, how.
