The New PS3 From Every Angle
By Shaun Hatton - August 18th, 2009![]()
There’s nothing readers of gaming sites like more than oodles of images of hardware they don’t yet have. I posted about Sony announcing the new PS3 earlier tonight, but now I’ve been sent some super high quality images of the new model and I gotta admit, the thing looks freaking sweet. There’s even a shot of its underside! From these new angles, we can appreciate the updated design quite a lot more.

The front view is notably nicer than the top view. I’d like if it came in different colors…
Yes, this is all good and all, but will it blend?
I like the matte black finish of it, but yeah who knows. Maybe they’ll have other colours down the line, especially later in the system’s life like in 2017.
Johnny – I totally forgot about that site and now I just lost a half hour to it.
I like large, clunky form factors.
Especially if they look like something Jules Verne would use. I’m going to be adding some gears and steam pipes to mine to make it look more futuristic in an old-timey way.
This design kinda reminds me of the NEC Turbo Duo!
@Jorge I believe the futuristic old-timey style you are referring to is called “steam punk” nowadays. Sony…. SteamPunk style…
