Win The Bear Stories Vol. 1 and 2

The Bear Stories is not a comic book for kids. It’s also not a comic book for people who are easily offended. It’s about a bear that lives in a world of humans, and the humans are assholes to him. He, in turn, is a pretty huge jerk in his own ways. Trouble seems to follow him wherever he goes, and he certainly runs into his fair share of freaks along his misadventures.

Although he’s a total jerk at times, you can really empathize with the guy at times as you begin to understand where he’s coming from. For the record, none of the characters refer to him as being a bear, though to the reader he obviously is one. Could it be that there’s a little bit of the bear in all of us?

The creators of The Bear Stories have been friends with us for a while now. They allowed us to interview the bear himself (the surly bastard that he is) at FanExpo for Episode 10 of our podcast, and now they’ve given us copies of Volume 1 and the newly released Volume 2 of The Bear Stories to give away to one lucky reader.

These comics are hilarious and offensive. The bear swears a lot, is mean to old people, and kicks animals. The books are pretty thick, clocking in at 56 pages each. Within the pages of these comics, we’ve also put it several things found around the Toronto Thumbs office, just for fun. If you want to enter to win this prize pack, just send an email to torontothumbs@gmail.com with the subject line “The Bear Rocks” and we’ll take care of the rest. A winner will be chosen on October 31, 2009 and will be notified by email.

Good luck!
