Turtles Forever Trailer Hits YouTube

Turtles Forever

The trailer for Turtles Forever, a special TV movie most Canadians won’t get to see legally when it debuts on The CW4Kids on Saturday, November 21, 2009, hit YouTube today. The plot of the animated flick involves the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles somehow teaming up with their contemporary counterparts and their original Mirage Comics incarnations as well. On the flipside, it looks like this has multiple versions of The Shredder in it as well.

I’m not going to lie – as a TMNT fan from the early days this special has me very intrigued. Turtles Forever might turn out to be horrendously bad, but I’ll never know until I watch it.

If you are a fan of either the original Mirage Comics, the ‘87 Turtles or the Turtles of 2003, you owe it to yourself to find a way - any way - to watch this.
It’s been long enough that there are plenty of Youtube vids available to view, though being Youtube, there’s the two risks of 1) being Rick-Rolled, or 2) getting a bad/dead/low quality vid. Still, it’s worth it.
If you don’t have any moral qualms about the idea, you can even find some decent-quality torrents floating about the Internet. I just finished watching a torrented TV rip, and it pleased my inner Turtle geek to no end. For me (I grew up with the ‘87 cartoon) it was like a nostalgic trip down memory lane, but with the polish and kick-buttness of the new cartoon to kind of gloss over (or at least lighten the impact of) the cheesy moments from the ‘87 show. I’ve come to terms with the fact that my childhood was a lie, but at least this let me laugh at it and genuinely have fun with that sad realization.
