Pocket Plastic Pokémon

Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version will be available in North America March 14. But given the retailer-encouraged consumer disposition towards pre-ordering things, Pokémon fans who just can’t wait (but will have to, anyway) can start pre-ordering either or both these titles and receive a neat little Pokémon figurine in the process.
Kaiyodo, a company known for making tiny plastic figures, is manufacturing the little toys. As with most Pokémon games, most gamers will have to decide between one game or the other, hoping a friend will buy the corresponding title so that trading can occur and everyone’s Pokédexes can be full. With this pre-order, gamers will get one of two figures depending one which title is preferred.
The Ho-Oh Pokémon figure will accompany pre-orders of Pokémon HeartGold Version while the Lugia toy will be given to those who pre-order Pokémon SoulSilver Version.
More interesting than these figures, however, is a new accessory included with both games. While the titles themselves return players to the Johto region introduced in Pokémon Gold and Silver for the Game Boy, the games feature DS- and DSi-only features and come equipped with a Pokéwalker accessory that will allow gamers to carry their favourite Pokémon wherever they go and allow for the finding of hidden items in the game.

Typical thoughts upon seeing the oversized boxes for these games:
-Oh wow, it’s almost here!
-Awesome, we get the PokeWalker, too!
-That SoulSilver logo could sure do with a makeover.
My thoughts? “Wow, that’ll take up a lot of space in my game case collection!”
I think I need help.
Yeah that logo could have used some more time in the approval process, but so could have that inflatable Pikachu we’ve all seen on the Internet. You know the one!
Also, as someone who’s loved Pokemon since Red/Blue, I’m still looking forward to playing this revamped version. That PokeWalker looks like it could be pretty neat.
