REJECTED!
Dante’s Inferno Super Bowl Ad
By Shaun Hatton - February 1st, 2010
CBS rejected this Super Bowl ad for the upcoming game, Dante’s Inferno. Telling one of the largest television audiences ever to go to hell is not cool with the broadcaster. Go figure! An edited version of this spot will run, replacing “Go to Hell” with “Hell Awaits.” See? Much more family-friendly.
It’s almost as if Electronic Arts is trying to mess up every promotional attempt for this game - and they’re doing a great job of it so far. Still, the game looks like it can speak for itself. EA may as well strap firecrackers to babies and let the good times roll*.

Well, I’m one for pushing the envelope a bit, especially then stakes are high. I really dig the ad in it’s original form. The messaging is more powerful and ensures that the audience knows this is more of an adult oriented game.
At any rate, I was sorta ho-hum about this game before, but after watching this, I think I’m changing my tune!
I like it! How often do you get a chance to tell probably more than half the population of America (they love there football) to go to hell?
