New Management

The halls around the office don’t echo with the light-hearted banter that it once did.  When Shaun was picked up by The Electric Playground, a good deal of the wind behind the sails of this site changed; our momentum started to diminish.  Truthfully, Shaun is a dynamic and incredible person with enough work ethic, enthusiasm, and creativity to power a small country.  Perhaps that may not make a lot of sense to some of our newer readers, but to those who know Shaun, it is probably an understatement.

Shaun’s endless wonder in the face of gaming and gizmos was the driving force behind Thumbs.  Understandably, with his new project, he will not be able to contribute to the site.  This was a big blow to us, as we didn’t think that it would be fair to let the site fizzle out.  We have a loyal fan base made up of intelligent and fun people; people who are not afraid to get their hands dirty in the comments fields and forums.  So we decided that I would take over as Editor-in-Cheese of the site: a more daunting task I can scarcely imagine.

So what’s the plan?  Well, we’re flying by the seat of our pants (what else is new?) and there doesn’t seem to be a runway anywhere on the map.  However…

• I have a small group of dedicated writers who will do their best to keep things interesting.
• We are planning to introduce some new features that I hope you will all like
• Many of us are multi-console users, so multiple-perspective reviews may be a possibility
• We are going to be the same weird people we have always been
• We plan on continuing the podcasts

So please, bear with us.  We will do our best to keep you entertained and informed.
