Oxvylu: Recess

Many of you Toronto Thumbs regulars know who Oxvylu is. For the uneducated, he is a chiptunes artist without peer. That’s not to say that he does not have any friends, though; he has plenty (DJ Finish Him, for example).
If you have listened to any of our podcasts, you have heard his music. Almost all of the intro and background music are Oxvylu’s handiwork. When Shaun first introduced me to Oxvylu’s work, and told me that he was going to use it in the podcasts, my brain felt joyous and free. It was a marriage that made sense (unlike Julia Roberts and Lyle Lovett, or Billy Bob Thornton and anyone); we used it and have never looked back.
His latest work is titled Recess and the album lives up to the title. It is a short burst of awesomeness that packs a whole lot into a short period of time. Like us when we were children, Recess enriches 16 minutes of our lives with energy and fun.
