How Are We Doing?
Housekeeping

So it has been a little while now, and I have noticed that the comments have all but disappeared, even though readership seems to be actually increasing. I am interested to know how we are doing as a site; what is working; what we can do better; are there really too few photos of Jackson on here?
For the record, there are a slew of reviews coming up, as well as some humorous pieces that are somewhat game-related.
But for now…

Actually, I think I like the way things are just fine. (Though editorial content, i.e. the recent state-of-gaming-on-OSX article, is much preferred over previews and reviews.) I’m guessing comments have been few just because 1) we’re lazy and/or 2) we haven’t played much Toy Story 3 or Guilty Party lately.
I’ve been following the site only for a few months now, mostly to get a feel for what’s happening in gaming in my neck of the woods. I find, however, that the articles here seem to assume that the reader knows the writers. I have no clue who Jackson is or who the two guys in the pic above are. The masthead page lists the names of the site’s writers, but gives no further information about them.
My suggestion would be to add a simple little bio for each team member, just to give newer readers (like me) an idea of who the writers are, where their specific interests lie, what experience they bring to the blog, etc. I think mostly I feel that I want to get to know the writers because they live in Toronto. I might not care so much if this were an American site.
Other than that keep up the great work! I look forward to the features posted here and I especially like the coverage of local events.
Interesting point by Rez, there. Perhaps the site’s tone is a little _too_ conversational?
Reza – Thanks! You have a lot of valid points. This site is a labour of love, and we update it when we can. I have actually been bouncing around the idea of a “trading card” for each member. It has yet to be realized though.
Phil – It is casual, for sure. We are all about conversations here. I’m glad you joined!
Ghoti – Thanks! Now if we could only get everyone to stop being lazy and/or playing TS3 and GP, we’d be laughing!
