Angry Birds

By Kirk Jacklin & Jorge Figueiredo - May 7th, 2010

Angry Birds
barkingspace: So.
barkingspace: Angry Birds.
barkingspace: How long have you had it now?
Lanfranc: a couple weeks now… ton ‘o fun
barkingspace: How much?
barkingspace: Cheapy cheap?
Lanfranc: a buck… so just within my price range…
Lanfranc: actually $.99
Lanfranc: so i saved a penny
barkingspace: Wicked.
barkingspace: Basic premise?
Lanfranc: You are a pack of birds and some green pigs keep stealing your eggs.
Lanfranc: this gets the flock into such a tizzy that they want to kamakaze themselves to get back at the pigs.
Lanfranc: gameplay is pretty simple… you launch your bird from a slingshot into various structures to get at the pigs inside.
barkingspace: Cool.
barkingspace: How challenging is it?
Lanfranc: the learning curve is gradual. you start with a single type of bird, and start flinging it into buildings. It gets progressively harder, but they introduce different types of birds to deal with the more difficult buildings.
Lanfranc: imagine bombing birds… birds that burst into 3 smaller birds… bomb birds… and my new favourite… boomerang birds!!!
barkingspace: Wicked. Sounds like the game has nested in your heart.
Lanfranc: It’s pretty easy to when they make the gameplay so easy to swallow. It came with 5 episodes of 21 puzzles each, and they’ve just updated it with another 15, and there are more to come…
barkingspace: And at .99, you’re practically robin them! Don’t play too much, or your fingers will get soar.

I second this recommendation. This title’s easily worth the dollar for casual and hardcore gamer alike.

I’m thirding it. It’s pretty easy to figure out how to play it, and after the fourth level, you’re going to be humming(bird) through each game. I’ve been raven about it to all my friends!
