Hot on the heels of the recent story circulating around the internet about my large Dragon’s Lair collection (47 distinct different versions), Destineer has announced that it will be bringing Dragon’s Lair to the Nintendo Wii this fall, and this time, its partners are along for the ride.
Dubbed the Dragon’s Lair Trilogy, fans of the original series that started in 1983 will be able to get a taste of the first real title to create QTE’s (Quick Time Events): Dragon’s Lair. This title was followed by Space Ace,; finally, years later, Dragon’s Lair II was released. All three titles are coming packaged together in one release, and for the first time in several generations, as a native console release.
As with most recent releases that have been on DVD and Blu-ray, this new title includes a “watch” mode that lets you see the animation of the game (minus arguably the best parts—the death scenes!), and contains remastered animation from their laser disc originals as well as an all-new move guide for beginners.
The Dragon’s Lair Trilogy will be available this fall on the Wii for a suggested retail price of $29.95 and fans can find out more by visiting the official website.
