Stuff From Lately

It has been a few weeks since the calendar turned and 2012 looks to be just as exciting as 2011 – if not more. The webs of the internet yield some juicy flies from time to time; best to pull them off and look at them before the web sags too much, right?
Hard Reset: Extended Edition
Kalyspo Media is looking to shake things up -old school- with Flying Wild Hog’s Hard Reset: Extended Edition, a PC-only FPS with some neat features above and beyond the original (updated graphics engine, more levels and enemies, a new boss character and additional game-play elements). Hard Reset: Extended Edition dumps you in the midst of a cyberpunk war and promises to be a fast-paced jaunt.
If the screens and game-play vids are any indication, this could be a pretty fun title to play (and perhaps a reason to slightly upgrade your PC, even though you probably don’t need to).

Apparently you ran into the only gang that hates “paper-rock-scissors”.
Brisksaber
With the upcoming release (Re-release? Re-re-release?) of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace in 3D*, it is not a surprise that there have been apps created to facilitate the celebration. Brisksaber is a free app from Brisk Iced Tea for iOS and Android smartphones, allowing you to battle wherever you happen to be. It’s a cute little app that seems to be based around an improbable duel between Yoda and Darth Maul.
So download the app, choose your side (light or dark), and start swinging! You can check out more details here.

Max Payne 3: Video
Max Payne 3 is definitely looking better and better as we inch closer to release. Rockstar has released this design and technology video showing off some of the game’s goodness. At over three minutes, the video will show off some of the neat gun-play mechanics that Rockstar has created, as well as some great examples tactical movement implementation. Remember, this is not for the kiddies, so make sure you are locked in your panic room to look at this.

Eeyikes. MP3 might *look* better but that gameplay sampling has me very worried.
