505 Games’ Sniper Elite V2 gets a small shot in the arm (from far, far away) with the St. Pierre DLC, a new single-player mission. Your task? Hunt down General Rodebrecht, a huge threat to the Allied forces, and kill him. Your quest takes you to a small village in rural France that is crawling with Nazis. Happy hunting!
As levels go, St. Pierre is fun. The layout of the small town is full of tactical opportunities in the form of interesting places to hide. Of course, this means that your enemies will also be able to surprise you. It is a challenging level, insofar as your chances of meeting an untimely end increase as you take down opponents. Two of my attempts met with my becoming an ex-soldier thanks to my error in judgement (I always seem to fail to account for one sniper).
As far as I can tell, no real fixes for the game have been applied in this DLC, which means the odd audio glitch still exists (enemies that are far away from you sound like they’re standing next to you. It’s definitely fun, and you get to have three new weapons to play with (Tokarev TT-33, M1D Garand, Polish Blyskawica) – a definite bonus for a mere $5.
