Fan Expo Canada 2014
Blind Ferret Entertainment

By Jorge Figueiredo - September 5th, 2014

What sounds like some kind of odd cartoon animal character running an entertainment company is actually a few odd characters who draw cartoons. Ryan Sohmer and Lar DeSouza have made an appearance at Fan Expo for as long as I can remember covering it. They have a number of different web comics, some of which have the distinction of making it to print. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes irreverent, their works use humour to address poignant social issues. Of course, at other times, they just draw funny comics.

Blind Ferret has a number of properties, but among my favourite are three of their web comics. Least I Could Do and Looking For Group are each very different, but also both very entertaining. Both are written by Sohmer and drawn by Lar. Chances are that you will like at least one of these (if not both). The Gutters is written by Sohmer and features guest artists. If you’re looking for some awesome commentary about “the biz” – this is it (seriously, one of the latest strips about Tilapia had be on the floor and crying at the same time).

I have included links above to the web comics – but you can check out their main page here.
