Run DLC
Assassin’s Creed III
The Tyranny of King Washington – The Redemption

By Jorge Figueiredo - May 10th, 2013

redemp-1

The final chapter of The Tyranny of King Washington DLC was released not too long ago. This third installment, known as The Redemption, is a fitting end to a really great batch of downloadable content. The third leg of Ratonhnhaké:ton’s adventure takes place in New York, which looks a little different than the city that we have grown used to in the main campaign of Assassin’s Creed III. Be warned: there are some mild spoilers contained within this review – but nothing that hasn’t already been said.

Run DLC
Assassin’s Creed III
The Tyranny of King Washington – The Betrayal

The conclusion of The Infamy DLC in the Tyranny of King Washington DLC story arc for Assassin’s Creed III showed Ratonhnhaké:ton on his way to Boston1. The next chapter, called The Betrayal, takes place entirely in Boston. Normally, confining an adventure to one city might seem like a boring idea – but not so in this case. In fact, there is a fair amount of excitement and challenge in store for the player as the story hurtles along its arc, making this second chapter of the King Washington storyline compelling and fun to play.

Run DLC
Assassin’s Creed III
The Tyranny of King Washington – The Infamy

Fox News seems to be up in arms at the latest DLC for Assassin’s Creed 3. There is a small part of me that kind of understands their ire. The Tyranny of King Washington (Episode 1: The Infamy) portrays George Washington as an evil despot – which is not how he actually was. Of course, this is just a story, and should be enjoyed for what it is: a thought-provoking expansion to an already great game.

Run DLC
Watch_Dogs
Bad Blood

For many, downloadable content is the bee’s knees. Whether adding weapons, expanding environments, fleshing out a new story, or introducing new characters, DLC is a great way to squeeze a little more value out of a franchise – for both developers and players. Over the last few years, Ubisoft has been releasing some great DLC to accompany their flagship titles. These additional adventures extend the life of the core games in very entertaining ways. DLC like Freedom Cry (Assassin’s Creed IV) and The Tyranny of King Washington (Assassin’s Creed III) are each very compelling and entertaining (I highly recommend both of them) – and Bad Blood, the most recent story DLC for Watch_Dogs, is right up there.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
Open House Preview Event

By Jorge Figueiredo - October 23rd, 2013

Last night at the Amsterdam BrewHouse, Ubisoft hosted an open house preview event for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. As usual, it was a great event. I enjoyed it for two main reasons, aside from hanging out with friends: I got to play me some Edward Kenway, and I got to try out the PS4. Media were invited a little early for a presentation and to get some time with the game before the general public was invited to come inside. Everyone looked like they had a great time.
