Odd Prods
Woojer
Portable Woofer

Well, when I first heard about Woojer, I was somewhat skeptical. How could a tiny device that clicks to my clothes possibly make my games and music more immersive? Even as I opened the box sent by Woojer to check out their product, I was still a little doubtful. Well, folks, the body is a wondrous machine – and some intelligent people (I’m referring to the folks that developed Woojer) have figured out how to fool it, so that you really do feel like part of the action.

Dual Driver Earphones
Degauss Labs

By Jorge Figueiredo - December 26th, 2014

Most of the headsets with three-button remote controls that I have seen on the market are geared more for iOS devices than for Android ones. While it may not sound like it is inconvenient, until you have used a three-button remote to control your hand-held device you don’t know what you are missing. Degauss Labs, makers of the Pocket Couture, have created a set of decent-sounding earbuds that have a three-button remote that can be used with Android devices. It is called the Dual Driver, and it is a pretty slick set of earphones.

I-Have-a-Few-Extra-Pennies Gift Guide
Audio

I find that giving the gift of audio is something that is definitely appreciated – if you give the right solution, that is. Giving someone a junky pair of headphones or a crackly Bluetooth speaker is the opposite of friendship – so it’s important to choose your weapon carefully when the time comes. Here are a few ideas for audio if you have some extra coin burning a hole in your pocket this holiday season.

Sonos Year-End Event

Usually when a brand or PR company throws a little holiday party for media, partners, friends, etc. it’s not worth reporting because that’s not really the point. It’s common for companies to host this sort of thing, not to walk us through new products or announce next year’s releases, but as a simple thank-you to everyone that they work with throughout the year.

Creative MUVO mini
Weatherproof Wireless Bluetooth Speaker

By Jorge Figueiredo - December 3rd, 2014

There are many portable Bluetooth-enabled speakers on the market, and they come in many shapes and sizes. While sound quality and portability will always be two of the factors that people will look at to determine which speaker they will buy, other companies will attract consumers with other additional useful features as well. Creative’s MUVO mini is one such product. Boasting resistance to water and dust, Creative has given customers another practical reason to grab one of their products. They sent us one to try out, and I have to say that though the sound is not quite perfect (as is the case with portable speakers in general), its size and utility more than make up for any shortcomings.

808 Audio Canz Wireless Speaker

By Jorge Figueiredo - November 28th, 2014

808canz-1

Earlier today, we posted a review for the 808 Audio Canz Wireless Speaker. While not the end all and be all of bass, it is a handy little piece of tech that delivers great sound for a great price. Valued in between the $35 and $40 mark, it’s not a huge stretch for your wallet if you wanted a simple sound solution for moments where you need to make things from your phone just a little louder. However, we’d like to give you the chance to win one for yourself!

808 Audio Canz Wireless Speaker

There are a lot of portable Bluetooth speakers on the market, but pound-for-pound, the 808 Audio Canz Wireless Speaker is probably one of the most compelling. For such an inexpensive speaker, the Canz are a great choice – both tiny and surprisingly powerful, they deliver decent performance. Of course, they are not without their flaws. We were sent one of these wee units to try out, and have come to the conclusion that if you’re looking for a solid and affordable portable audio solution, the Canz are worth considering.
