Minecraft Mastery

By Jorge Figueiredo - September 12th, 2014

Available on practically every platform now, Minecraft is one of the most popular games on the planet Earth (and probably beyond, knowing how smart the aliens are). McGraw-Hill has published a great book called Minecraft Mastery written by Matthew Monk and Simon Monk. The book (206 pages) illustrates how to utilize the capabilities of Redstone, a versatile red ore found in the game. The book shows all kinds of neat tips and tricks to help you develop your own custom mods, as well as how to do a pile of other useful things. McGraw-Hill Ryerson has been kind enough to send us a couple to give away (MSRP: $15.00), so skip past the jump to find out how to win one!

Big Cheese DLC Code

By Jorge Figueiredo - September 7th, 2014

Earlier today, you might have seen Rituro’s review of new DLC for Tropico 5 called The Big Cheese. It looks like it wasn’t a bad addition to the game (though you can just read the review yourself to see what he had to say about it). Toronto Thumbs was lucky enough to score two codes for this, and we’d like to give away the extra!

POPSCOPE Prototype Model

By Jorge Figueiredo - September 3rd, 2014

We at Toronto Thumbs love to share goodness with our readers; and so, with the permission of the creators of the POPSCOPE, we are going to give one away!

With TIFF around the corner, Toronto (and a bunch of other places) are buzzing with excitement. So how would you like to go check out the world premiere screening of Dr. Cabbie on Sunday, August 31? For those who are unfamiliar with the film, the story is about a newly arrived immigrant doctor who cannot get a job in Canada and is forced to become a taxi driver. Of course, he ends up doing a lot more than just driving a cab. Does this sound like something you might like to see? What if we sweeten the pot and tell you that the cast will be there, along with a special guest? Well, one lucky winner will be able to go with a friend. All you have to do is enter after the jump!

Win Passes to See Warren United

By Jorge Figueiredo - June 18th, 2014

Click this pic to watch the trailer for Warren United.

If you’re like me and you like British comedians, you probably know who Steve Coogan is. Well, if you like Steve (or even if you don’t), you should check out Warren United (on BiTe Network). It’s a great comedy series that follows the fortunes of Warren Kingsley, an overweight kitchen salesman who also happens to be a fervent soccer fan. Check out the trailer above, which is conveniently the link behind the picture that happens to be…

An invitation for you and a friend to check out the screening later today at the Scotiabank Theatre – and after? A trip to The Office Pub to catch England playing in the World Cup! Now, we were a bit behind on this one, and you don’t have much time – but to win yourself a pass for two, just contact our friend Kate, and let her know where you saw this!
