Game Day!

By Jorge Figueiredo - January 24th, 2015

Well, it’s not the Super Bowl, but it’s still a lot of fun! Today at the office, Toronto Thumbs is celebrating an awesome first month of the year with our first 2015 Game Day! Just a few of us hanging out, trash talkin’ and playing for the title of Master of the Universe. We will probably span a few systems today – but who cares? It’s all in good fun, right? You should make sure to take some time to hang with your family or friends for your own Game Day! Whether it’s board games, videogames, or whatever – it’s always nice to just hang out and have fun.

Big props to fellow Canadians from Bomb Energy Drink for providing us with fuel for our Game Day! Be sure to check out Dragon’s Den on January 28th, where The Bomb Nation faces off against the fiery council for backing! You can also check them out here.

Fuel. Fuel is good.

PS: We are having Smozers.
PPS: Stay tuned to see how you can win your own Bomb Energy Drink gift pack!

Best Wishes, Mike Jackson!

By Jorge Figueiredo - March 29th, 2011

Today our very own Mike Jackson marries his girlfriend Lisa. Mike is a damned awesome guy (both as a friend and as a Toronto Thumb). Lisa is also very cool, making her a perfect match for our hero. I want to personally wish the two of them all the best in their new life together. Some of our current Thumbs (and one former one) have some words for our friend…

Congrats, MJ! Remember: games have a multiplayer option for a reason. The couple that plays together, stays together generates a wicked competitive streak that will not end until one of you is standing atop of a pile of victory! Bwahahahahaaaa!!!

…er, congrats!

Dave McLean

May this wedding by waaaaaaaay more successful than your sham marriage to Lisa-Marie Presley.

All the best!

Shaun Hatton

It figures a musically inclined man named Michael Jackson would fall for a woman named Lisa and marry her! May you moonwalk through life together and light up sidewalks wherever your adventures take you.

Best Wishes From the Readers!

If any of you have anything you want to say to Jackson and Lisa, feel free to put them in the comments below!

Oxvylu has outdone himself with a new theme song about…well…my eye! I am thinking that this tune will find its way into our podcasts from this day forward. Hellz yeah!

Thanks Oxvylu! What a great way to end the week!

A Study In Addiction

By Jorge Figueiredo - January 31st, 2011

This picture really has nothing to do with this article; but it looks cool.

Here at Toronto Thumbs, we pride ourselves on being reasonably logical people. We are always trying to understand the world we live in and this requires the use of Science™! A few weeks ago, TT’s own Mike Jackson encouraged some of us other Thumbs to grab a copy of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 from Steam; it was on sale and he thought it would be a fun game to play together. I remember thinking: is this really a good idea?

Toronto Thumbs Performs “Slam”

By Toronto Thumbs Staff - January 4th, 2011

So, Mike Jackson had this crazy idea about us performing a song* in Def Jam Rapstar and putting it on the internets: this, dear friends, is the final product**. It’s certainly not as horrible as other things that you could possibly find out there; I’m hard pressed to name any of those things right now.

Click here to watch how horrible we are! »

* – Slam by Onyx is our weapon of choice. I figured I would write that here in case you couldn’t tell what it was.
** – For the record, I only really first heard this song when Jackson decided it was the one we were going to do, which was two weeks ago.

Happy Birthday!

By Jorge Figueiredo - October 27th, 2010

Everyone knows that a certain plumber is celebrating his 25th anniversary this year; but really, what the hell has he done for anyone besides helping to elevate gaming to new heights and providing endless hours of entertainment for kids of all ages? Certainly he cannot be as awesome as our own Kirk Jacklin and Filipe Salgado?

Maybe he’s close.

In any case, warm wishes go out to two of our Thumbs! May your Birthdays be full of Happy, and your pockets be full of quarters!
