Years ago, when I was in University, the only courses remotely related to gaming involved making Snakes and Ladders using the Turing programming language*. From here, you would move on to more advanced programming which, as far as I remember, had very little to with games and more to do with creating programs that were secretly being used by the military**. Fun stuff.

Nowadays, those who want to jump into the video game industry have a lot more choice in the matter. There are so many more programs available to people now than there used to be in the past. Lots of different institutions are increasing their portfolio of awesome courses and programs, catering to those who are hungry for makin’ games!
